Dr. Donna Aucoin is the Founder and Director of Aucoin & Associates, a boutique mental health practice located in Lafayette, Louisiana. As a Licensed Medical Psychologist with advanced training in both clinical therapy and psychopharmacology, Dr. Aucoin brings over two decades of experience to her work with children, adolescents, and adults across Acadiana. Her mission as founder and director is to ensure that every client receives thoughtful, research-backed care in a welcoming and collaborative environment.

Dr. Aucoin is a proud Lafayette native who began her academic journey at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (then USL), earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology. She went on to earn a Master’s degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University and both a Master’s and Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi. As part of her clinical training, she completed a one-year internship at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

In pursuit of comprehensive patient care, Dr. Aucoin earned a Postdoctoral Master’s degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology and is now a licensed Medical Psychologist. This designation allows her to prescribe and manage psychotropic medication—a rare qualification that enables a true mind-body approach to mental health treatment.

As a former Regional Psychologist for the Louisiana Office of Mental Health, Dr. Aucoin helped design and implement statewide youth-focused programs. She secured a three-year, $1.05 million SAMHSA federal grant to expand mental health services and consultation across Lafayette Parish Schools, strengthening mental health access and training for students, educators, and families.
